{"id":75,"date":"2016-03-31T17:11:42","date_gmt":"2016-03-31T08:11:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/japan-woodwind-competition.org\/?page_id=75"},"modified":"2025-08-30T22:41:00","modified_gmt":"2025-08-30T13:41:00","slug":"rules","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/japan-woodwind-competition.org\/en\/competition\/rules\/","title":{"rendered":"Rules"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 data-start=\"78\" data-end=\"143\">The 36th Japan Woodwind Competition (Clarinet Division) 2025<\/h2>\n<h3 data-start=\"145\" data-end=\"162\">Eligibility<\/h3>\n<ul data-start=\"163\" data-end=\"347\">\n<li data-start=\"163\" data-end=\"234\">\n<p data-start=\"165\" data-end=\"234\">Open to those born on or after September 30, 1990 (no minimum age).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"235\" data-end=\"311\">\n<p data-start=\"237\" data-end=\"311\">Applicants must be <strong data-start=\"256\" data-end=\"308\">35 years old or younger as of September 30, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"312\" data-end=\"347\">\n<p data-start=\"314\" data-end=\"347\">No restrictions on nationality.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr data-start=\"349\" data-end=\"352\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"354\" data-end=\"389\">Application Period &amp; Capacity<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"390\" data-end=\"420\">Refer to <em data-start=\"399\" data-end=\"417\">Venue &amp; Schedule<\/em>.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"422\" data-end=\"425\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"427\" data-end=\"475\">How to Apply for the Preliminary Screening<\/h3>\n<ul data-start=\"476\" data-end=\"546\">\n<li data-start=\"476\" data-end=\"546\">\n<p data-start=\"478\" data-end=\"546\">Applications must be submitted online through the designated page.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"548\" data-end=\"579\"><strong data-start=\"548\" data-end=\"577\">Preliminary Screening Fee<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"580\" data-end=\"729\">\n<li data-start=\"580\" data-end=\"624\">\n<p data-start=\"582\" data-end=\"624\">5,000 JPY (to be paid by bank transfer).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"625\" data-end=\"729\">\n<p data-start=\"627\" data-end=\"729\">The fee is non-refundable under any circumstances, except in the event the competition is cancelled.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr data-start=\"731\" data-end=\"734\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"736\" data-end=\"777\">Application for the Final Screening<\/h3>\n<ul data-start=\"778\" data-end=\"957\">\n<li data-start=\"778\" data-end=\"889\">\n<p data-start=\"780\" data-end=\"889\">Applicants who pass the preliminary screening, as well as those exempt from it, will be notified by e-mail.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"890\" data-end=\"957\">\n<p data-start=\"892\" data-end=\"957\">Please follow the instructions provided in the e-mail to apply.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"959\" data-end=\"984\"><strong data-start=\"959\" data-end=\"982\">Final Screening Fee<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"985\" data-end=\"1135\">\n<li data-start=\"985\" data-end=\"1030\">\n<p data-start=\"987\" data-end=\"1030\">25,000 JPY (to be paid by bank transfer).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1031\" data-end=\"1135\">\n<p data-start=\"1033\" data-end=\"1135\">The fee is non-refundable under any circumstances, except in the event the competition is cancelled.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr data-start=\"1137\" data-end=\"1140\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"1142\" data-end=\"1156\">Expenses<\/h3>\n<ul data-start=\"1157\" data-end=\"1369\">\n<li data-start=\"1157\" data-end=\"1277\">\n<p data-start=\"1159\" data-end=\"1277\">All travel expenses, accommodation, music scores, and other related costs are the responsibility of the participant.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1278\" data-end=\"1369\">\n<p data-start=\"1280\" data-end=\"1369\">Any cancellation fees for accommodation are also the responsibility of the participant.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr data-start=\"1371\" data-end=\"1374\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"1376\" data-end=\"1408\">Confirmation of Acceptance<\/h3>\n<ul data-start=\"1409\" data-end=\"1969\">\n<li data-start=\"1409\" data-end=\"1609\">\n<p data-start=\"1411\" data-end=\"1609\">Acceptance will be confirmed once the online application and payment of the participation fee have been completed, followed by a confirmation notice (via e-mail or telephone) from the Secretariat.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1610\" data-end=\"1722\">\n<p data-start=\"1612\" data-end=\"1722\">Except for those granted a designated date, participants may not choose the date of their preliminary round.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1723\" data-end=\"1969\">\n<p data-start=\"1725\" data-end=\"1969\">If unavoidable circumstances such as school commitments occur, it may be possible to specify the date of the <strong data-start=\"1834\" data-end=\"1872\">first round of the final screening<\/strong>. Please indicate this at the time of application. Contact the Secretariat for further details.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr data-start=\"1971\" data-end=\"1974\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"1976\" data-end=\"2001\">Required Repertoire<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2002\" data-end=\"2028\">See <em data-start=\"2006\" data-end=\"2025\">Designated Pieces<\/em>.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"2030\" data-end=\"2033\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"2035\" data-end=\"2052\">Accompanist<\/h3>\n<ul data-start=\"2053\" data-end=\"2343\">\n<li data-start=\"2053\" data-end=\"2232\">\n<p data-start=\"2055\" data-end=\"2232\">In principle, contestants must provide their own accompanist for the second round and the final. All costs related to the accompanist are the responsibility of the contestant.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2233\" data-end=\"2343\">\n<p data-start=\"2235\" data-end=\"2343\">If it is not possible to bring an accompanist, the Competition Board will appoint an official accompanist.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2345\" data-end=\"2386\"><strong data-start=\"2345\" data-end=\"2384\">Rehearsal with Official Accompanist<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2387\" data-end=\"2534\">\n<li data-start=\"2387\" data-end=\"2463\">\n<p data-start=\"2389\" data-end=\"2463\">Rehearsal time and location will be designated by the Competition Board.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2464\" data-end=\"2534\">\n<p data-start=\"2466\" data-end=\"2534\">Contestants may decline to rehearse with the official accompanist.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr data-start=\"2536\" data-end=\"2539\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"2541\" data-end=\"2562\">Important Notes<\/h3>\n<ul data-start=\"2563\" data-end=\"3497\">\n<li data-start=\"2563\" data-end=\"2696\">\n<p data-start=\"2565\" data-end=\"2696\">Information such as educational background, age, and submitted photographs may be used for publicity purposes by the Competition.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2697\" data-end=\"2855\">\n<p data-start=\"2699\" data-end=\"2855\">Contestants must bring the performance number card issued by the Secretariat, check in at the venue at the designated time, and follow staff instructions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2856\" data-end=\"3000\">\n<p data-start=\"2858\" data-end=\"3000\">Contestants who arrive late without prior notice may be considered withdrawn. If withdrawal is unavoidable, notify the Secretariat promptly.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3001\" data-end=\"3074\">\n<p data-start=\"3003\" data-end=\"3074\">The order of performance will be determined by the Competition Board.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3075\" data-end=\"3238\">\n<p data-start=\"3077\" data-end=\"3238\">Contestants advancing to the second round will be announced after the first round.
